| | NManBarto | Mar 9, 2005 3:13am | | OK guys heres the deal, by winter of 2006 I want to be backpacking in Europe for about 2-3-4 months. I have done my basic research but I could really use any pointers or advice, especially if anyone has done something similar or even packed in the area. I plan to start in France and go in a clockwise circle, ending in Spain. How far that circle extends is what's up for debate. Anyone got any suggestions? |

There are cheap hostels all the way and you meet people from all over the world. You can start from Le Puy en Velay and end up at Finisterre. In all my life, I've never done such a good trip! |

It mostly turns out to be a spiritual experience though, even if, I have to admit, a lot of people I encountered there go at first for travelling cheap ;) When I went last time, I started from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and it's about 1000 km from the arrival point in Finisterre. Very hard for the feet and knees, but worth the experience! |

I'm also wondering if I should buy myself some trekking gear... poles for example. |
