GPS For City Use?

Hi all,

I'm planning a return to Europe for next year, and am wondering if taking a GPS unit with me would be advisable. Last time I went, I was stymied by cities like Prague, where I had no idea how to pronounce the poorly-signposted street names and wound up lost for the better part of my stay there. How precise are these units these days, and how much use would they be in a situation like the one I describe?

Well, isnt losing yourself, body and mind, into an unknown city the funniest way to discover its hidden spirit? OK, if this argument isnt for you, maybe you'll just decide to give up on the gadget when you see its price... (around $250... gulp! a touristic guide would be cheaper lolol)
